burning time?

I was wondering how long it takes for you fine people to burn a 6-7 gig movie start to finish? I burnt "Friends 9th season disc 1" last night and to decrypt, analyze, and burn it took me 46 minutes. Is this about right or, is this slow. I am using a Athalon 2600 512 ram nec nd-3540 w/ verbatim dvd-r at 8X

any help on this is greatly appreciated

And depending on your encode/transcode settings it could be quite fast. What were your settings?

I don't know? I am fairly new to this. I believe they are default setting .

Probably means your doing a "Full Disc" backup, keeping the "Extras" and the "Menus" using "Deep Analysis". That would explain why yours is taking alittle over a half hour.

Alot of the people are doing "Re-author" backups, keeping the main movie only. (Heck of a lot faster!)

@jmet - Good Point, thats why I asked! I'm a Menu Shrinker, movie only man myself.

I especially do "Movie Only" backups on my kid's DVD's. That way, she can insert the DVD and they will automatically start. No menu to confuse them!

Is deep analysis really required for better quality? usually the decrypting take-16 mins, encoding another 24 mins, and deep analysis-24mins, burning takes -6 mins @ 8x. that equals a little over an hour! Is that normal?

Try the fastest approach, reauthor/movie only/shrink-no DvdDecryptor-
burn, compare results. If you cut out enough stuff, DA doesn't even come into play or matters less.
