blutach: Regarding the LB recommendation gui in PgcEdit, what do you choose/do if no recommendation is given? I mean, no green, blue, or yellow line....only the highlighted darker blue. As in the one that shows which cell you chose.

I get no warning of any type. Simply no choices.

1. @Pinan - If PgcEdit offers no choice whatsoever for the LB then you have authored the disk with cells of too big a size, so that no cell boundary falls within the LB parameters.

2. If only one is offered (it will be the original and be blue), take that one!

1. This has happened several times. Would DVD Shrink be the culprit (I wouldn't think so). Example: Star Wars 2. LOTRFOTR (not ext.).

2. I am correct that the *dark* blue line is not a suggested LB...right? It would be a lighter blue (or green/yellow) for the LB?

1. No, the dark blue line in my guide is simply Windows XP's highlight. There should be some cells though.

2. But if you do use it, make sure remove LB is not checked in preferences (unless of course you want to use PgcEdit or ImgBurn to set the LB manually).

3. As I said before, the key is that a cell boundary must exist near the edge of the disk. Are you sure you have the burning setup done right?

2. Well, I've been using PgcEdit only to place the LB, so I have Shrink set to remove LB. I suppose I could leave it in Shrink...but then what would I burn with, that wouldn't muck it up? Nero?? *Pinan ducks*

3. Yup. Everything works as advertised. After LB gui, ImgBurn opens properly and I lite the fire. Heh.

I only use Shrink because the video edit/preview ability is heaven. If I knew how to remove menus, logo's, etc. with the same accuracy, with PgcEdit...I likely would.

You have a wonderful preview on a cell by cell basis in PgcEdit (courtesy of jeanl). Although you can also preview in DVD Shrink, you don't have to process, in which case, you won't get into trouble.

To remove menus and logos is a breeze in PgcEdit. Either Kill Playback or use VobBlanker to blank the cells concerned (also has a great previewer).

I'll give 2COOL's guides another read blutach. A bit of a learning curve after Shrink, but I think my mind is up to it.

I like the preview in PgcEdit.....now to learn what to do with it. Heh

Well, for one, you can see what's in a PGC. For example, a promo, or DD trailer, or useless FBI and mar them for blanking or removal.

Note, if a whole VTS is fulla crap, you can position the cursor on any title in it and use Ctrl-Delete, which replaces the whole VTS with a tiny 10k blank. Now, that's cooking!

Hello again blutach. More issues.

I burned Star Wars 2 after choosing the only suggested LB (yellow) in PgcEdit.
The disk plays fine through the LB on my Apex, but skips to the next cell (about 3 min later) on my Sony. The burn itself is of very good quality, as per DVD Speed, so I know that's not the issue.

Is this simply a stand-alone player issue? Is there no hope? I've had a few that reversed which player they worked properly on as well.

Save me from the Tylenol!

What media did you use? My SONYs play Verbatims with no problem.

Sorry about the thread issue. Think I'd know better after being a Mod and all.

Verbatim's also. Newer Sony. Again. Sometimes burns play fine on the Sony, but skip on the Apex. I know that I'm missing something. If I should post my IFO's, please advise as to how.

2.4x burn.
On what? Verbatims. BenQ 1640 fw BSLB.
Desktop PC. P4 3.0 HT 1GB RAM
Sata HD's. Capture drive separate from OS/burning drive.
DVD Shrink to PgcEdit to ImgBurn.
Where might I find/make the burning log please?

Here is the latest burn I was referring too. I'll do another one if needed, to create a log. Please advise.

Press L in ImgBurn. There may also be a log in the folder where you have installed ImgBurn. But, your scan indicates a very good burn. Therefore, a hardware issue.
