Hmm. It recognises discs fine here. Never had a problem burning - except with Philips discs, but my dad's Sony DVD burner does that too so it is the discs, not the burner. Now, it does not come up "blank CD" like it does when I put a blank CD in my CD burner but Nero and DVD Decrypter see the blank disc just fine.
Conclusion: Cheap products may cause errors but since I am not heavily using it, it rocks!
