Small DVDs won't back up

I seem to have most things working using a combination of DVD43, DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter. However, when I try and back up DVDs that do not need shrinking they burn fine, but don't playback well.

Discs are Taiyo Yuden and they work fine on movies that have to be shrunk, but films such as Cocktail and A Time To Kill don't and I don't know why.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Obviously a bad burn. Do you have a log of the burn?

what program are you using to copy the dvds that dont need shrinkin

TY's are a great media if you have the real ones. The media does not care if the movie is shrunk or not. Like blutach and JÖñ asked what program did you use and can you post a log of the rip and burn?

Thanks for your suggestions, I will post the logs below. I am pretty sure that it's not bad discs as it consistently burns larger DVDs fine, then whenever I try and do small ones it appears to work, but they don't playback.

I have tried using DVD Shrink then burning with DVD Decryter and just using DVD Decrypter's read and write ISO action with the same results.

Take DVD43 out of the equation and run it again. There is simply no need and it ruins the rip.

Tried that, just used DVD Decrypter, but I end up with an unplayable disc again. I can't really understand it? Do you have any more ideas?

Is there any difference in the log - the read log especially?

Have you tried to play the burned DVDs on another machine?

I'm at work now so can't check the log right now, will do so when I get home. There isn't a difference that I noticed to the naked eye - ie no errors appear. BTW I got bored yesterday doing this one and burned Batman Begins using a DVD from the same spindle and DVD Shrink, DVD43 and DVDDecrypter and it worked fine.
I will post the log up again when I am home.

Here is the read log, I don't really want to do another write as I suspect that it will fail.
This only happens on small (usually old) DVDs. Ones that I have noticed are A time to Kill, cocktail and some Eddie Izzard stand up show DVDs.

If you have an RW, give this a go. The rip looks fine and there's CSS which is good.

I trust DVD Decrypter is at its defaut settings.

When you write - please change the volume label - no spaces.
