Strange problem with two DVD writers

Hi all,

Firstly, I would like to Thanks from bottom of my heart for this wonderful site.

Now, comes the problem

I have got two DVD writers both are Samsung. Installed in two different PCs having Windows XP and Nero 6.x.

When I copy something from say PC A using Nero Express, the contents are not visible in PC B if I try to append something using PC B's Nero Express.

But I could see the contents of that writable CD in windows explorer.

So, I can't append any thing. I need to erase the disk in PC B and rewrite.

BUT the strange thing is here.

Now when I use that writeable CD in PC A which has been written by PC B's Nero express, I could see and able to append files.

It means PC B's settings are perfect, I am not sure what is wrong with PC A's settings. As mentioned earlier both has XP and Samsung DVD writer.

I did that... "allow multisession". But of no use...

Post a burning log of your problematic burner. Perhaps the disk is closed, even if you wanted multisession.

where do I get that log in nero? Moreover, if the disk is closed. How do I open it. This problematic burner I purchased a few days back.

C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero\NeroHistory.log

If it is closed, too bad.

I will go home and check this out and post the log. BTW what do I need to see in the log to identify if it is closed. Can't we do something to open it. (

Burn the contents again and then leave the disc open. In otherwords copy all the content of the closed DVD to the PC and then burn in Nero and do not close the disc.

A closed (finalised) disk can not be re-opened.

You mean to say copy all the content to PC and then burn the contents with Multisession option enabled. How would it help me? Please explain.

No No. I have the rewriteable disc... and always use multisession.
