Help with burning DVD using Dvd Shrink

I'm a newbie, I know I know, please bare with me. I am having trouble with my DVD burner. It's a Memorex double layer burner. I'm buying verbatim dvd+r disc. After I shrink the DVD and go to burn it using DVD shrink, the DVD will not play in my DVD player. It just says "loading" then says "no disc". I have burned DVDs before and was successful. I'm currently trying to burn, House of Wax, Bewitch and Friday Night Lights. I have no problem shrinking them, just the DVD burner does not work properly. I just bought it like 2 months ago. Am I doing something wrong?

Please supply a log of your burn. If using Nero, it is located in C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero\NeroHistory.log

In the meantime, read the golden rules of burning in my signature.

You should only use genuine Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden media. Many thanks to www.pcx.com.au for their supply and great service.

is this the same media that gave you success before? was it R+ or R-? if not, it may be that your player doesn't like that media. you can also try to change the book-type to dvd-rom, but a burn log will help like blutach asked.

When I try to post my log on here it says it is too many characters and that I have to shorten it.

I'm not sure what you mean by media. If you mean if I was using the same software the answer is yes. I have not changed anything since I got my DVD burner.

Hello, I am getting successful burns from files that will play on the computer, but when burned it does not play in computer or dvd player.
I have tried +R and -R It has worked sometimes. I am using 2x, DMA, on Nero and firmware are up to date. No clue why it does not play. I get a message that disc format is unsupported and the Disc is blank in nero disc info even though I can see the data burned on there.

                    Thanks for the help.

Sorry I am not computer smart... I am using Dynex Dvd+R. I also have Verbatim DVD+R I have not tried those yet though, because the Dynex was working fine in earlier burns.

don't use the dynex anymore, poor quality media only good for headaches. stick with the verbatims.

No I haven't tried any other discs. I also did the cleantool. However when I went to update firmware it gave me an error message.

burn at the slowest speed possible. what sort of error did you get with the firmware?
