that looks very bad- have you another means to scan for comparison?
No, this program is the only one that scans with my writer. Anyway, a I said in the past, I don't care for these scans normally as the discs still work.
I understand that DVD's with CRC errors can still play fine, but can the data from a Data DVD with CRC Errors be read?
The ones I had could (Memorex +RW). I manage to copy all the files to the hard disk by using DVDD's ISO mode as well as a straight forward copy and paste.
I think that if a Disc doesn't have CRC error's, a DVD player should be able to play it. Any DVD Player that can't (like the PS2) should be considered sub-standard.

I know ppl say that Verbatims are bloody expensive - they are! But I also know they'll play on anything and last a lifetime. They are worth the $$$ IMHO - especially in comparison to some of the results we've seen with other DL media.
I don't mind paying the extra 'cos I am getting value for money and know I'll get a perfect burn every time that plays. Yes, of course, a PS2 is junk. But my DL burns play on the PS2 here (yes, I test them there too before scrubbing the ISO - call me anal).
And despite what people say about el cheapo player, those Cyberhome players seem to tolerate faults in almost anything. They ain't all that bad (I just trust they are pumping good data into the track buffer).

HOW old ARE you?

Not having tried Verbatims, I still will concede that they are probably of better quality than these RITEKs, but to me, it's just a matter of economics. If I'm going to pay 4 bucks for a DVD, I'd rather buy the original. I just bought Lethal Weapon 2 at Walmart for $3.44. They also have tons at Circuit City for 5-10 bucks.
Concerning Cyberhome. I'm actually very impressed with the little thing. It's nice and compact, and plays anything as long as "logical remapping of enabled streams" is enabled. Muti-system, multi-voltage, region free and for as low as $25. What more could you ask for? (Except a remote that takes AAA's)

It's not worth me getting Verbatims. They cost over £4 and I recently made made a decision that only buy DVD's when they are on sale at £5.99.
My cyberhome CHDVD400 is now basically a just a DVD player. After juts 18 months it won't play a DVD (both original and backup) without skipping or freezing every few seconds. I am also not alone with this as other people in the uK have had the same. IT cost me £50 at the time but now can be bought for £25. For that low price they are still worth it.
As for the price of Verbatim DLs, I can get them here for A$6.50 delivered in jewel cases, which I reckon isn't all that bad, especially considering the cost of replacement DVD originals - anything upwards of A$15.
Of course, they make great XMAS prezzies from kids too! That really lowers the average unit cost!!!

Does it play anything?
Anyway, I forgot to mention that my Cyberhome is a CH-300. Works well so far, knock on MDF.
My PS2 can't read DVD's! I was watching a movie last night, and it started skipping. I actually had to back it up so that I could watch the movie!
