What would cause an authored DVD to begin "stuttering" and "jumping?"

I'm a member of an outdoor video production team, and am in charge of producing/editing... I've put together some sneak peeks to send to potential sponsors, and the DVD's worked fine... now, they are starting to stutter and jump while playing... I'm using Nero for the DVD authoring, Sony Vegas for editing...

I used Fuji DVD-R blanks... are they inferior, or stable, and will switching to DVR+R make a difference? My burner is a Sony CD/DVD+/-...

They're good disks, but what is the Media ID Code? Your burner's firmware? See link in my signature for how to find out.
