With your low ram situation I wouldn't do much of anything except pray
when burning, those little icons down next to the speaker and clock
also take some ram, be a little careful turning them off with a laptop.
I don't know where in the heck they hid jmet's guide to turning off loading
    programs in msconfig.

I read in another forum that dvd-r or +r are easily spolit after a few months true ? Need yr opinion ? They said they lost their stuff after a for few months to few years ... so are dvd-r still reliable . That forum was showing some graphs etc..

            droozy,
that why I have ridiculous standards, I have lost some 1-2 yr old disks,
just about 1-2% of a couple hundred. I wouldn't have lost those if I had bought better media.

mmm.. so I just keep to the golden rules and better media ?
Just happen to read it. Got a shock !

Oh ya how come I got the message unreadable error when I try to do the transfer speed (use nero cd dvd speed) whereas the scandisk of the dvd-r is 100% good ?
              Thanks.
