I picked up some DVD-R Verbatrim. When I put them in DVDD they read as DVD-R, but also read as saying the disc were full! Every one! Same with IMGBURN.
I have had them for a little while, so I did not still have a receipt to return them...
OK, not my standalone dvd recorder is supposed to only record on + media. Don't ask me why, but I thought, hmm, I am going to pop one of these puppies in and see what happens. It took the disc, formatted it, recorded on it, finalized it and played just fine...?

Are you talking of a rewritable disc? How can a -R disc be formatted and then burned?

Nope, my standalone always ask me when I insert a new disc, not just rw, to formatt it...but I am more shaking my head at the fact that on the computer, it reads as a minue disc, which it should, reads full, which it should not, but then my standalone recorded on it when it should only do that on the plus media.
