    when your 4x scans start to show lower scores(0-50) then take shrink and simply copy to the hard drive and reburn on better media.

    all this stuff has been proven 1000 times over at cdfreaks

    the authors of nero tools and dvdinfopro drop in there from time to time.

      Which leads me back to one of my original questions: "Can I make a copy of the backup and get LOWER error rates than the original? Actually I know I can when error rates are below 280/4... but what about 10 max PIFs? At what point are they NOT correctable?"

      OK... I know I CAN make disks with lower error rates. But at what point is an error on the original disk not correctable? Or is this drive dependent?
