Installing DVD Decrypter slows down my burn speed!

I have an HP Media Center with an HP 640b DVD writer. It seems when I installed DVD decrypter my burn speed maxes out at 1.3X which takes about 40 minutes to burn a disc. This happens with Nero or DVD Decrypter at 8x speed selection with 8x discs. It used to only take about 10 minutes to burn a disc.

I was able to system restore to a time DVD decrypter was installed and the speed went back to normal! I have made sure my firmware and drivers are current.

Is there something in DVD Decrypter that is slowing the burn speed despite what program I am using?

Thanks for the quick response! I have 2 primary channels and 1 secondary with 1 hard drive, DVD writer, and CD player

1st primary channel: Device 0 Ultra DMA Mode 5
Device 1 Not applicable
2nd primary channel: Device 0 Ultra DMA Mode 2
Device 1 PIO mode
Secondary channel: Not applicable for both.

I am not sure which channels go to what. I assume the DMA mode 5 corresponds the the hard drive, DMA mode 2 to the DVD writer, and PIO mode to the CD player?

Would system restoring affect those settings?

Check for differences after and before restore, but if your DVDRW is on DMA mode 2 already, wont make much difference.
