okaY now im stuck again. i upgraded nero, set all the settings and took the advice. tried it again, and it failed again. this time with this error message. any ideas?

There is more.The only change I can see after what everybody gave you is that you updated Nero & changed the burn speed to 4X.You need to go back through the posts again & implement.

i went through and enabled the DMA stuff, chanvged burn speed to 4x, and upgraded NERO. which is basically what i was told to do. the only other thing said was that there was too much memory being used. but i have no idea how to fix that. why is it 75% and what does that exactly mean?

I tell you one thing that is different. Under the DMA guide everything matches under the primary channel. but there is a slight difference in the secondary channel. it says the correct setting should be Ultra DMA mode 2, but mine is different and there are no options. Under device 0, it says DMA mode if available....but under transfer mode it has PIO mode(with no options to switch to. then under device 1, it has DMA if available and then DMA ultra mode 4 under the transfer mode. Any idea if this might be causing the problem?

It is an I/o Dvd writer16x. tahts all i know because i cant find the box at this exact moment. it has worked really well in the past with the same media i am using now but it dont seem to like it now? i get my hardware updates from www.drvupdate.com if that helps.

OK i burned 1 successful movie today with a Playo DVD disc. then i tried another one after that and i saw something weird on the burning screen when it comes out of shrink. It said something about switching to DVD ROM mode. Then it went through the burning process and said it was unsuccessful with the same PLAYO media. Anyone got a clue? It's the inconsistency that is killing me.

okay im about sick of DVD shrink's inconsistency. Is there anyone who can tell me how to run something through shrink and then burn with NERO directly? I think this has been suggested before adn i think it might help me a little bit. But i dont know how to do it once i get into Nero. Is there any kind of turorial about this?
