Could you post a log file from Nero ?

To do so, go here: C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero
Look for a file named "NeroHistory.log"
Open that file up and copy the last log in it.
Then paste it here.

If you have Nero 7, it's in: C:\Program Files\Nero\Nero7\Core\NeroHistory.log

Thats the right thing to post, but the wrong log, as that log says:
"Cache writing successful.

You want to copy the very last log in the "NeroHistory.log" file.

Make sure you have the latest firmware for your burner. That will ensure more media compatibility.

Installing your firmware:

1. Don't run any other programs at the same time
2. Don't have any disc in your burner at the same time
3. Restart your PC after you have flashed it.

This error message is usually caused by the firmware of the recorder not being about to recognize the media. A firmware update will fix this.

Edit: Both of the logs you posted say "caching was successful", so either you haven't posted the right log yet or you got confused on the error message.

yes, so sorry i just reposted it,
but that one says the cache writing is fine too!
but it says there is a 'Power calibration error'

DVD shrink did allow me to burn, it allowed the 'lead-burning phase' but just before it started burning, said there was a problem.
im really confused. maybe i need to change the quality settings,,,

or

ill just dump that brand of dvds, cause my old brand works

Try updating the firmware of your burner and updating nero, they are both free to do. I think that will solve most of your problems.
