Nero "Copy DVD" problem

Hi...My buddy gave me a movie that he burned on a Memorex disk. I am trying to make a copy of it and burn it onto one of my disks. So I click "Copy DVD" in the Nero program. But everytime it gets to 50% copied, I get a "Error reading disk" message. I played the whole movie in my DVD player and it's fine, no problems with the video or audio, so how come Nero keeps getting this error? I even washed the disk with warm water and soap and dried it, still no luck. Do you guys think that maybe it's because it's Memorex and it's a 4x disk that he burned it onto?? Please help. Thanks.

Yep! Making a copy of a copy is nearly impossible if the original copy was burnt to cheap, low quality media such as Memorex.

You can try DVD Decrypter but, its more than likely going to throw up a I/O error. - http://forum.digital-digest.com/show...threadid=48358

Try making a "data disc" in Nero instead of "copy disc"....this will work sometimes,and may be compatable with your home dvd player.

i use dvd shrink to copy a disc most often, from memorex media too...no troubles

don't forget about dvdfab decrypter also.

Agreed! Open the disc in Shrink and copy to your HD. Then burn DVD later manually w/ Nero
