    I have a question - movie companys

If we wanna burn a movie to a blank 4.7g blank disc, we have to compress it or re-author it to make it fit onto that 4.7g disc right? Right. So what kind of discs are the movie companys using to make their copies that don't have to be compressed?? And where they can fit the menus and Special Features if they want. And how come we can't buy them? Are they Dual layer discs?? if so, what did they do before Dual layer was out? This has probably been asked before and I hope I make sense.
    Thanks.

yes they are dual layer discs. but not all movies are dual layer. even some brand new movies can be single layer discs although not common. these are usually b movies and stuff like that.

ok..that's cool..but what about before dual layer was invented?? Take the movie HEAT (1995) for example. That's a 3 hour movie, and I had the DVD back in 1999. So how did the movie company get that on a DVD disc??

it should be dual layer. they were using them before you could buy the blanks.

I agree about Verbatims, but check the specs on your DL burner as some are quite picky. Verbatims seem agreeable to most, but safest to check anyway.

Yes they do, and they are under Memorex's brandname. AKA Memorex DL's are Ritek MID.

My Ritek DL's make no reference to Memorex.

They sold as Ritek's,and read under disc indentifier as Ritek's.

They have worked well for me.
