Help: DL 1:1 copy won't play in settop DVD players

The burned DL disc works fine on my PC but the settop DVD players won't read it. Any suggestions on how to make it compatible with most settop DVD players out there? Here are the steps I took to burn the disc. Thanks!

    1) Rip to HDD using DVDFab
    2) Import the file using Nero Recode 2
    3) Analyze / Decode / Burn with Nero Recode 2

    Burner: USB2.0 external Sony DRX-810UL
    Media: Verbatim DVD+R DL @ 8x

I'm a DVD burning newbie. Just bought the drive 2 days ago. How do I change the -ROM setting? Thanks!

BTW, the 2 settop DVD players play DVDShrink DVD-RW just fine.

P.S. Isn't DL = DVD-9? If so, I suppose most settop DVD players can read it.

There are just a couple of things I can help with but I am sure there will be others along to help.

            Recorder: <SONY DVD RW DRU-810A> Version: 2.0d - HA 2 TA 1 - 6.6.0.14
. This is the second time in as many days that I have seen this. Version 2.0d when firmware check reveals 1.0d.

Nero is burning DL @ 8X when it should be @ 2.4X.

What media are you using? Because it doesn't like it. Thanks cornholio7.

Here is some info on bitsetting because I don't think it is changing to dvd-rom.

I would also look into this:

I flashed from 2.0b to 2.0d for nothing but out of curiousity hoping to get better performance. Is there something wrong with 2.0d?

I think you are going to have to wait for somebody with more experience reading these logs than me. I don't think your DMA is set for your burner.

BTW, my burner is external running on USB 2.0. Does DMA still apply? Thanks!

I followed the burn DL disks with PgcEdit instructions and got a good ISO image of the movie. Now I got this error when I try to burn it with ImgBurn. Any advice? Thanks!

Chewy is flying around in the Millenium Falcon taking care of some Storm Troopers, I know he can help you when he returns. Please be patient.

This Nero Burning Rom burned DL disc is perfectly playable on my 2 settop DVD players and PC but the verify test is full of errors. Should I worry about them or just ignore them? The log file is too long to post. Thanks!

                          Steps:
                          1) Rip DVD to HDD with DVDFab Decrypter
                          2) Create ISO with DL layer break with PgcEdit
                          3) Burn ISO to DVD+R DL with Nero Burning Rom SE

I burned another DL using the above steps but the disc shows the first screen and then quits with error. The burn surface has some weird wavy lines on the outer edge. Should I take the drive back to the store and try something else to see if it will make a difference? Thanks!
