I was fixing an old dell 4550, and replacing a broken cd burner, I pulled
the drive, it was a nec 1100A, lady said it never would burn dvd's.
Had an old oem dell firmware on it, broken faceplate and all, I hooked it up,
ran nero info tool, sure enough no dvd-r support, ended up at herrie's site,
flashed with 1300 crossflasher, but after reboot the drive's light kept blinking
safe mode, reflashed but this time powered down not rebooted. Burned a
16x TY dvd-r @ 4x,
