DVD RW drives wont write CDrs

I must be doing something wrong, so any help would be appreciated.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>

I installed a Sony DVD DL RW in November. It burns DVDs great but I couldn’t get it to burn CDrs. I just installed a NEC ND 3550a and now I have the same problem. When I send files to the drive the XP writing wizard tells me that the disk is unusable. <o></o>

NECs website says I have the correct/current driver<o></o>

tell me what info you need to diagnose and I will provide it<o></o>

    thank you<o></o>

I am not using nero, (not even installed) I burn evrything with DVD decrypter

I am just using the windows XP wizard to write files to a disk. right click on the pic and select "send to D drive" then "write file to disk" then the wizard tell me the disk is unusable. no matter what disk I try I always get that error

after over 5 hours on 3 different phone calls to MS tech support I was told my MS XP was corrupted. I have backed up and rebooted my PC and now the XP writing wizard works with one of my drives to write files to cds.

        what a day!
