I notice that you don't use 1y5, is there a reason? I will get 3550 today and hope you can shed some lights on this Nec?

    Thanks

I have been getting good burns with the nec and the 1Y4
change log for 1Y5 doesn't apply to my drive use
      Fixed RICOH JPNR02 @12x
      Added RITEK G03 @4x
      Added OPTODISCR08 +R @12x
Firmware now packaged with Binflash 1.24
here's a better burn with nec 3520, but way below my standard

Well I just about finished running these bad disks down, the bad part of this was I had a little extra time and decided I would upgrade some of my older burns with these disks, I have scanned over 20 burns and so far found 5
of 50QS or less quality score, for my standard that's a failure rate of 25%.

Now I will have to test every burn just to be safe. Your posts show that at 8X that there is a question of quality control especially those huge spikes. Japan here I come after these other 99 are gone!

Thanks Chewy for the heads up!
