Burn ISO image or DVD files for more compatibility

    Hello everyone
I want to ask your opinion on something I can`t decide myself. Do you think there is a difference concerning compatibility with standalone dvd players and playing without problems frizing etc, if you write the dvd from an ISO image or from DVD files on the hard disk. What do you thing on this when we burn single layer and dual layer dvds?
I generally use Nero. For a period I worked with dvd shrink and created ISO images on the hard disk but lately I read something elsewhere and I`m creating regular dvd files on folder.
Yesterday I had this thing and I don`t know what went wrong. I wanted to back up a movie on a dual layer dvd. I decrypted the files with dvdd. I burned them with Nero 6 on a Verbatim DL (my Nec changed booktype to dvd rom) but the disc wouldn`t play on any dvd player (on pc it played fine). Then with dvdshrink I write on the hd only the files of the movie . This time the dvd plays on one of my two dvd players. I tried on another pc with nero 7. I tried to burn only the files of the movie and it wouldn`t start to burn . Τhen with dvdshrink I created an ISO image which burned ok and plays on my standalone dvd player. That`s the story . Sorry it`s too long.
What do you think happened and what`s your opinion for ISO and DVDfiles especially for burning DL dvds. And do you think leaving only the movie in DL discs is more playable in dvd players ?

I always use iso images (created by Shrink, DVDDecrypter or Imgtool) and have never had any problems. One advantage is you can mount them as virtual drives to see if they work before burning.

Several ways. Nero has Nero Imagedrive but, two free ways is to use Daemon Tools or Slysoft Virtual CloneDrive.
