problem getting current transfer mode switched

my current transfer mode is stuck in PIO mode, i tried the tutorial, http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?t=61905, and it wont switch out of PIO mode, does anyone have a suggestions for me, i dont know too much about computers so please explain any answer you give

Download Nero CD/DVD Speed from my signature and run the Nero info tool .

Hit save file button and post back with the results here.

i tried that sevearl times and it doesnt do anything

some posts say to update BIOS but i have no clue how to do this, or how to switch the master/slave roles

how did you change your bios? did you click Esc before you get out?

just downloaded the program and ran it

it updated the bios but it didnt help the problem

you have to go in to the bio and fix your self, f2 was my function when start up

I am getting a feeling of deja vu here, last time this happened, and a drive had been added to a dell, the poster never finished telling what he changed to fix, but my theory was the original drive was jumpered cable select and the
added drive was jumpered slave?? That's just a wild guess!

I agree with you Chewy. Dell's and their damn cable select setups! I know because of my old Dell.
