Hi there,
this might be a 'newbie' question, so maybe this post should be moved to the 'Newbie' subforum under the 'General Discussion' board, although I think it might be better off in here with the dvd pros.
Here's my question:
I've got this 4,35 GB ISO video file. I busted it with IsoBuster 1.7 and it shows a file structure like this: DVD > Session 1 > Track 01.
I figured, if I burn it on DVD just like this (I own Nero Burning ROM 6.6.0.13) I'd be watching the video in a couple of minutes. Well, you might have guessed, but it didn't quite work out that way. After trying to burn the image as (allmost) described in jmet's sticky post "Using Nero Burning ROM to Burn a DVD" (http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?t=61570), which had to be altered due to the lack of those individual VOB files of course, everything went pretty well. After the burning was completed I reinserted the dvd into the player - but nothing happened. No files were on it (or not recocnized I should say) by the system (Win 2000 Pro).
So I tried it a second time. Nero refused to burn the image in ISO mode (bigger than 2 GB, so too big), that's why I used UDF 1 as suggested by the program. That worked well, despite the loss of data that could've happened as described in Datawatch99's post "recover 4+Gig files from DVD?" (http://forum.digital-digest.com/show...+iso+track+dvd). There's the same amount of data on my dvd as on my hard disc fortunately.
Yet, I can't watch the movie.
How do I burn it to dvd in order to watch the thing, or how do I tranfer (transcode?) it to a video file onto my hd in order to watch it? I know, asking this might sound silly, but I ain't got the slightest clou.
I guess you guys know how to help me with my little problem here. Please let me know wether you need any additional info. Thanks in advance.
P.S.: A couple of minutes ago I read the post DVD Shrink and ISO/MDS files or what about those .i00, .i01 files? from Chetwood (http://forum.digital-digest.com/show...threadid=44796) saying something about DVD Shrink being able to read ISO image files. So I downloaded, installed and started it. It refused to open my ISO file in question. The error message read: DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue. Invalid UDF filesystem. Does this mean I should forget about this file, or is it still worth a try?
