Thank you so much for your help, I used DVD decryptor and DVD shrink to try and back-up the movie "The Company".
I downloaded the Damien Tool bar and now I can't even use the decryptor, it says device not ready, medium not availabe...
but ill take your advice and buy some new discs and start again.
thank u again, sorry im such a noob
p.s. im using fugi film dvd+r discs, do these suck? and if so what brand should i get?

Get some Verbatims or Taiyo Yudens. Check also your DMA. But it's the blanks or the burner itself - the writer couldn't even write the leadin.

Read and implement the Golden Rules of Burning.

              Regards

You should only use genuine Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden media. Many thanks to www.pcx.com.au for their supply and great service.

the burner is a 2.4x dvd+r only, firmware is 2 years old
you are trying to burn 16x media that wasn't around when the firmware was written

the media is OK, your burner is obsolete
you need some old slow media

staples has some sony 8x dvd+r on sale for 15$ a 50 pack, if you could find some made in japan they would be Taiyo Yuden, probably a safe bet, they would be worth more than the burner

don't forget, the 12th can be applied to shoes, trenchcoats and automobiles!
