I just bought them today. Ten pack in dvd cases for $6.44. I figured it was worth it for the cases alone, the discs are just gravy. If they turn out fine, if they don't, no biggie. I am going to go see what you found now.

      Edit: Wow 2004, who knew.

        Cd-Dvd Speed benchmark???

Well I guess today was my lucky day, I was at one of the local wally marts and just went to see what they had in the way of blank media. Actually it was my wife who found them, some Maxell discs clearanced @ $5.00 a spindle for 25. So of course I had to look and see what they were. Japanese made 8x DVD+, bonus score!!! I bought the three remaining spindles and here is the first burn done with them.(scans 1_53 & 2_09)
I went to do a benchmark test on them now it wants a blank disc, so i gave one up and then it said creating data disc (scan 2_55). So i take it this is now a coaster, but I have a use for it. I have only run into this asking for a blank disc once before, is this common? Usually it will run a benchmark test on a disc that has already been burned.

Well the old bait and switch got me two of the three packs were made in japan, the third was made in taiwan, so shame on me for not looking closely at all the packages, 50 good ones and 25 fair ones for $15.00 still isn't too bad.....the boxes all the way down to the discs look identical except for that made in section. Just goes to show that you need to look at each box individually, closely.

don't waste any of those on data disks, the R03's are worth 20 cents, the maxell 002's should be pretty good

Can't get lucky all the time.

My wife & my son went into Wal-Mart today so I asked them to pick up another spindle. Never noticed until I opened them, 1X - 16X but still Made In Japan. I can't remember trying a 12X burn or 16X for that matter.

                    ok guys,
here's a burn to beat, size 4400MB, PIF total 57, perfect TRT 4:54
make it something current or very recent
and these disks are the value line for <.30 to the door

w/o the 2 spikes that would have probably been my best burn ever

Chewy, where did you get the disc? I bought a couple hundred a few weeks ago, they are supposed to be 02 or 03. I have not opened them as of yet, since I still have about 60 of the 03's opened. The disc I bought came from SMS for 51.99 delivered.

Thanks, I thought that might be where. So I was hoping to get the same MID as you when I do open them. Again, thank for the reply.

It is definitely an unbeatable deal on disc though. I guess you saw the Ritek DL they had for like $1.20 a piece.

Well you gave me an idea. I haven't opened them, but to get that number I don't have to so I pulled out the box and mine are GG000106 and GG000149. Unless I reading backwards, but I'm pretty sure that is them.
