My theory is there will be very similar results for those 2 drastically different scanners with grade A media, but B and C quality burns will start to show less agreement between the scanners.

PIE graphs are almost exactly the same, not so the PIF reporting.

    congrats on post 1000

This is a good question. I never buy media like these, but nierle gave me these media instead of the ones I actually ordered.

I'm still really angry for this. I ordered a box of 50 philips discs with mediacode MCC03RG20. These are great media (I have another box of these), and when I did the order in nierle there were MCC03rg20 as mediacode. When I received discs, too bad, I didn't check them, and after about a month I burned the first media, and discovered that these are a box of 50 pieces of cr......p

Next time I'll check all media immediately.

Sorry, I should have (thought I did but guess I didn't) mentioned that I was speaking of packs of 50. Just never thought of packs of 25, I never look at them.

keep that burner and firmware, with that media that's a GREAT burn!
                        And benq's are picky!

This is real bad tho, cause we tell everyone not to buy cmc mags, maybe that disk will deteriorate
                        quickly.

                          CMC mag media is good?!?

LOL Nothing is ever as it seems! I have a friend that uses the cheapest *junk* disks he can find, & never has a disk freeze, or otherwise "act up" during playback.

He uses a very inexpensive player, also. I am going to have him scan some of his disks for quality & see what they look like.

Many thanks for all your help!!!

Third test with those prodisc and one for the heck of it with a plus MIT sony 16x disc. I'm beginning to think that even though they say speeds up to 16x, that probably they won't. and neither pack said certified 16x, here they re for you to peruse.

Chewy once said with so many variables out there burning isn't a science it's an art. I believe he is closer to right than many would like to or have you believe.

I wouldn't use many -R's with that drive till they mature the firmware.
