    Hi Soup,

Done a quality test with the new imgburn at 4X and 16X with my Lite-on 160P6S.

Hopefully this help on your research. I have been very happy with it.

    Good Luck

Thanks for the info. Just want to see if I am getting this right. To me even although both are at 95 & 2, it looks like from the figures that the 16X burn was slightly better.

I'm still learning how to read these, but thats the way they turned out.
No background programs running, same iso.

The main thing is in the imgburn menu it supports 6X,8X,12X,16X

Would you like me to test at 6X?

No that's okay, from Chewy's explanation I think I got the gist of it, thank you.

try burning at 8x or 12x, the 4x is too slow, that 16x was a great burn for that speed. Geno would probably say 12x will be better than 8x?
getting a good batch of verb's is the hard part

Is it alright to have 2-3 yellow blocks on the ScanDisc test? Most of my burned DVDs have 2-3 yellow blocks, but it still says 100% Good on the report section.

I'll have to give the DiscQuality test a go and see how that goes.

@ Chewy re: Houston we have a problem. I found this thread regarding SH-S162L & disc quality scan. Post #19 is informative but I think it is a typo where it says US06 as from what I know TS06 is the latest. Mentions something about speed's registry blocking entries?

                          http://forum.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=147150.

This might seem a bit off but this thread discusses it as well.

                            What does this tell you?

Now in my own defense this was done before I joined the Forum. Now you can chuckle Chewy.

I have an issue with Benchmark Burn speed test.

I try to burn in 8x mode but it flatlines at 4x.

Tried two different media types. Verbatims and Memorex with same results.

This burner doesnot support Disk quality scan.

What is going on. (Its New HP Laptop)

your drive will never do disk quality scans and until hp releases new firmware,
if ever, I would not expect 8x out of those cmc mag's

might not like them, have you tried any better media?

still tho that transfer test looks good and that's what matters
