is there a top brand dual layer burner out there? i'm interested in buying one, but i'm not sure which one to get.

i bought nec 4550a,few days ago,had a dl nec 2510 before...both times very satisfied with nec...
although i must say tahat i only had nec.... -
so nec's have been working for you. my friend has one and it took him a while for it to work correctlyComment

Pionneers are usually very good and tend to last for years with firmware updates all the time. I'm running a 109 and it can't bitset but the newer models may be able to. Your best bet is to shop and compare the various models and choose the one that you like the best.Oils well thats ends well.Comment

i have a lite on SHW-160P6S-04 and i just recently learned it was dual layer, i have a few dual layer discs and i may try to burn one this evening, just to see how it works. remeber the biggest drawback to it is the cost of the disc, a standard price is 2-3 bucks a disc.If you use these forums you will not have to face that...

well the double layer backups are an extremely fast do even with my old seabiscuit, the thread i mentioned above was very helpful and easy to follow once i put my brain in the right gear.If you use these forums you will not have to face that...

NEC all the WAY !!!! Will burn 4X (TYG01) disc at 12X with L&D firmware.
If you need Nero it comes packaged with the Retail 3550A at newegg
