    Nero 5 burn log

am i to understand nero 5 does not auto generate a burn log?

i'm using nero 5.8.9.9 on my second pc (bundled with burner) and there is no history file in nero's folder. naturally nero tech support is as useful as a screen door on a submarine as i sent an e-mail 1 week ago and still haven't heard anything--or ever will i bet. my understanding is it will only make one if you choose to save after the burn process?

5.8.9.9 they never got that high, see this list

I'd upgrade to 5.5.10.56 and I am pretty sure they used a log with the later versions

ok chewy, i'm going to update right now, since this is nero 5 and i haven't used this in ages....is an unintall needed? (it's an OEM version) nero 6 updated fine without one....

pretty sucky no logs in this version--maybe they were too ashamed!

try it first as an upgrade, I know I had to do that a lot as new media came out, but then I never could figure out was it my firmware or nero that fixed it
or both, back in the 256 meg days with xp, ran lean and mean or you didn't run.

It did generate a log looie. Just look for log/text documents in the ahead folder.

They even published a guide on how to interpret it.

you might want to stock up on some older media, really doubt it will like any of the new 16x stuff

heard those older ones will almost read anything

You should only use genuine Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden media. Many thanks to www.pcx.com.au for their supply and great service.

well nero tech support decided to reply today-one week later

they said it should be in the usual place, but i guess it won't create "nerohistory.log" untill after the first burn. i thought my nero 6 OEM had that file before i even ran a burn process.
