I am thinking about new burners for my computer's any suggestions.

Depending on my machine I have 2 burners one I like and one I could live without, but there are features on each I like. The better of the 2 is my liteon dvdrw SHW-160PS6, it is a dual layer 16x, and you can change the bitset (a must now) for + discs. My other is a Memorex dvd+/-Rw True8xI. it's great feature is it's ability to burn at many more speeds than the lite-on. On a 8 or 16x dvd+ the slowest it will burn is 6x. I just tried to see what would happen with slower media, I still have a few 2.4 x discs lying around, mostly collecting dust, but the liteon will burn it at 2.4. I've tried to set the burn rate slower on faster media, with no sucess and many times 16x will never get above 12x even if it's set at 16x.
I normally only use + discs and I've been using more dl's lately, but when I picked up the liteon from a friend I didn't know it was a dl, $25 was a deal to me. I also burn quite a few cd's so I need one that will do that type of media well, here is another strong point for the memorex, it does a better job on cd's than the liteon.
The last thing I use Cd-dvd speed and would like to be able to track jitter, and have it display the write speed which neither on of my burners will do now. One that is compliant with that program would be great.
If you use these forums you will not have to face that...

No relation. I think we have the same initials though.

So I am thinking about these two:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827101002 , and http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827152055 , i wanted them both in black as they will fit the scheme of things better, with my machines. why is the price higher on them being black? They are essentially the same burner correct?

I don't need the nero oem, i have disdain for nero most of the time, I have a very old copy of record now that i use to make data or music discs with, and now I make ISO images of the backups for ImgBurn to burn (hey why won't Nero cd-dvd speed burn those ISO images anyway?) About all I ever use NERO 7 for is if I need to make data dvd's. Well why I'm at it does anyone know how roxio works in the scheme of life?

wait, it will come down(shipping) or list.
highest I have seen it in months

                          nero/cdspeed does burn iso's

roxio is still screwing up computers
