Bad scans after Bitsetting? BenQ

After changing bitsetting to DVD-ROM on my BenQ1655, (using Qsuite - pgm. came w/ Burner) the disk quality score seems to have gone lower than before... I also changed the book type in DVDDecrypter.

Also, disc quality scans look somewhat different - what does the wide "mountain" (green) areas in the lower chart mean? Sould I switch back to burning as DVD+R to get the disk quality score back up?

What speed are you burning at?

When I used to burn at MAX, I would get spikes like that everytime the speed would increase in the burner. IE goes from 4 to 6 to 8 to 10 etc. Every change would cause a spike.

bitsetting just writes a few bytes to a small area in the beginning of the disk

I agree with Chewy.

Bitsetting can't create such a differences. Media variability or a bad batch. I think a bad batch.
