probably almost 2 years old, haven't seen any available at the major retailers
in almost a year
the TY branded ones are still available online, but at a premium price
afaik they may still be in a limited production?

sony 8x + MIJ then they are TY 02, you can also look in Sear ( price match from CC or BB to make them cheap), Big lotsigpic

guess i misunderstood, thought chewy was referring to the 1x-16x being something diff, my mistake, I've definately looked around for the "made in japan" sony 1x-8x ty's and found some good deals at some box stores. I'll look around some more when I'm out and about or just order them from SMS. Thanks nighttran.Comment

very true, the 25 spindle I found at best buy and the 50 spindle I found at circuit city were the last spindles of that kind in the store. I'll look around, but not too hard, lol, unless they are on sale, they are quite pricey, so I'll order em.Comment
