    Verbatim 16x DVD-R MCC O3RG20 Made in Taiwan, @ 1x with NEC ND 4550A v.1.84

I just got this burner. And I´m not quite happy with the result... Any ideas?
I don´t know if it´s any help but I also did a scan with the interval 1 ECC between 2000 and 2500 MB where that great peak is.

I used write speed 1 x in ImgBurn.

And here is the scan of the same disc in my Philips CD-rom. The scan above was made with the disc in my NEC. Why the big difference in the results?

I created a data disc and ran a transfer rate test. And a disc quality test. Verbatim just like before. Here are the results.

your drive/firmware looks like it is learning how to burn that mid better, even
              up to 8x speed

on your next movie burn take a disk from deeper in the spindle(say 10 disks further down), burn at 8x and then scan, looking more and more like you ran
into a few bad disks in the same part of the spindle, I have seen this with
several batches of verbatim and even taiyo yuden

for some reason the +r verbatim seem to burn better

LMAO! I found another one of those burners, so I thought, at a different local walmart. Got it home, opened it up, and it was a 2004 liteon model, and it was fried, literally! Someone pulled the ole switcharoo on em. New it was too good to be true......
