EDIT: Just burnt a Sony Dvd+R 8X, made in Japan. MID=YUDEN000T02 @12X & it didn't set the booktype to Dvd-Rom.

So I used the Create Disc function of Cd-Dvd Speed & burned an image using the PX-810SA (1.0) @12X, then scanned the disc with the external PX-716A (1.11) (TATest) & SH-S162L (TS08) @8X (Disc Quality).

well at least the dual layer d01 wasn't a coaster, now sometime when it's productive, and you need to burn another dual layer see if the plex/pioneer212 does a better job than your other burners with verbatim, it should.


It's doing a heck of a job with premium sl media, IMNSHO

If I am not mistaken that last clump is when the drive is burning slower, funny how the layer break area is so good

Yes & I will, 6X & 8X, for the MKM001s.

ok soup are you see what I am seeing? of course it would take a graph to show it?

the lower burnspeeds with that sata burner are burning worse, LuK found the same effect with his new samsung 203B, Dee got a 16X test blank from ricoh? and I was amazed at the quality of that burn

pertaining to dual layer this is breaking the rules

before 4x was maybe as good as 2.4, then 4x pulled out ahead with a few newer burners and now 6x or 8x will start to shine with a few exceptional new burners and quality blanks

On DLs the second half still gets to me. You can be sitting with nominal PIEs, PIFs sitting around 55 & a QS of 95, then bang the scans done along with everything else you end up with a QS of 40. I know this is only to give as an idea but it sucks to see it, maybe it's just me.

On the other stuff you are right, Rakter over at CDF told me his sweetspot for the MKMs is 6X with his Plex 760 but I couldn't duplicate that with the Plex 755, just didn't turn out the same.
