BR7, glad to see you got that new burner to work, these sata drives are finicky? I can't even use one with my older chipsets. It would be nice to see a max burn speed log and graph and a good test of the burner?

At first it wouldn't show up so I freaked out for about 30 sec.I then realized I forgot to turn it on in my bios after that it recognized it just like any other drive. It has been awhile since I ran a test, is it the bench mark tab I select? Then I select run test and select all, right?

Don't waste a disk, why not just do a burn at max and post a log(imgburn) with scan

hope that burner is getting enough juice

Well it did alright up until it hit around 15x.I really don't trust these discs they didn't do well in the Benq or my liteon either. They seem to burn best at 8x on all my burners anything past that I get a bunch of errors.I am going to use them up and then get some more 004s and yuden 02's.I will be back some time this afternoon

I would still expect them to burn better up to 12X than your other burners, probably a bad batch of dash R verbatims

have you used the samsung to scan with yet?

for the booktype issue, which may be related to your sata controller and not being able to update your firmware, start a seperate thread for imgburn

usually the burns are screwy or verify won't work right with such issues

First burn, but wasn't done on my rig, I couldn't wait to try it. TDK Dvd-R 16X. Burned @16X with SH-S203B (SB01) & ImgBurn, then scanned with SH-S203B (SB01) @8X. I also did a Dvd+R & ImgBurn did set the booktype for Dvd+R to Dvd-Rom.

for that mid, that's a pretty good burn, especially at 16x, 5:30 seems a little slow

the drive may be slowing to keep a good burn
