Compusa brand AML002 DVD+R burned at 8x on TS-H552B actually scored 93!!!

I bought these cause I wanted to test out my new printer that prints directly on the disc. I was surprised by the results! Supposed to be 4th class media!

Silver-topped Taiyo Yuden DVD-R Value Line, burned at 16x (I think, maybe 12x) on a Lite-On SOHW-1693S.

This is my first 98 out of this batch it was burned at 4x up until now they were all 97's

I scanned this well-known fake TY (Fry's cheap-O) with KProbe, so no quality rating, but I was actually pretty impressed with it until it spiked into the stratosphere

This one puzzles me..... burned using the new ImgBurn @ 4x, but I still got that huge spike that killed it

Any ideas as to what causes this?

This was burned from my more compliant files that I got from R4M.

The first one was burned using the new Imgburn and the second was from the same rip but compressed using Recode and burned with Burning Rom.

You can set these things in IMGBURN. I just set them all to "ON" I thought it would enhance the performce. Here's some burns with my new drive and new TY's. Still getting a lotta errors towards the end...... I guess a 97 probably isn't a bad score, though.

Very first burn with newly installed NEC 3550. 2510 was starting to show it's age. Had alot of crap running in background ,so it could have been better
