To change the scanning interval with Nero CD-DVD Speed the following registry value can be added:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ahead\Nero Toolkit\CD Speed\CD Quality]
"Scanning Interval"=dword:0000008 for 8ECC or =dword:0000001 for 1ECC
To compare with other drives following intervals can be used:
8 ECC (to compare with BenQ/Philips/QSI/Pioneer)
1 ECC (to compare with LiteOn/BTC/Plextor)
32 ECC (to compare with AOpen)
The colored backgrounds and quality score are changed accordingly.

(Liteon drives) using K-Probe @4X scan speed or CD-DVD Speed (disc quality) @4X scan speed.
If scanning with a Benq drive. use CD-DVD Speed (disc Quality) @8X scan speed. If you use these forums you will not have to face that...

Honestly I prefer benq scans to liteon, drag(mod) over at cdfreaks is big on the 1 ecc scanning interval. When you show the liteon scanning better than the nec, what I see is the liteon taking a crappy burn and using error correction to make it look better not worse. Neither show the whole truth,
just different parts of it.
Each burner should be calibrated individually for scanning speed, scan as fast
as you can and still get reliable results. My last batch of TYG02's has a few
marginal disks, I am scanning with "quick scan" modified to try and catch more of them. It's about being practical, or time efficient.Comment

What is your idea of taking the nec to do 1 ecc scans? If you use these forums you will not have to face that...
