7 programs to backup dvd's! What is the best?

Is there anyone who says Burning/backing-up DVD's is easy? (without spending a gazillion hours)

I have DVD FaB, Imgburn, Shrink, DVD Region+CSS, Decrypter, Pgcedit, and Nero.

Is ther one program that I can buy that can do it all?
What is the best/most usable program/programs?

I have Nero 6.6 that came with my DVD drive and when I go to burn the shrink files it wants me to buy n upgrade and I get Dolby errors.

Is it worth it to upgrade to the Nero Pro?
Should I spend money on another program?

I would rather buy one good program rather than juggling all these others.

What do most use primarily to decrypt-shrink-burn?
Does it vary from movie to movie?

Should I take a few weeks off of work and do some indepth studying of the forums?

    Thanks &
    Cheers

I use Shrink and ImgBurn on most of the DVDs. The ones Shrink can not handle alone, I use RipIt4Me and ImgBurn.

Before RipIt4Me I used PgcEdit on the hard ones, but now it's RI4M. These are the two easiest steps I know(yes two steps, because I prefer to call ImgBurn myself).

I use AnyDVD running behind Nero Recode, this could be (almost) a two to three click operation to backup your movies.

              ripit4me >shrink >nero
              or
              dvdfab >shrink >nero

if not arccos or ripguard protected, you just need shrink and nero.

DVD95Copy is another great tool, and it's a One Click operation if you have two DVD bays.

nero vision and nero speed test are the only nero I use

As you can see, it really is each to his own. Find out what works for you and what you feel comfortable with.

A lot of people use Ner0 to burn, because it has come bundled with their burner. Others prefer the sleek, free ImgBurn.

Some people use DVD Shrink - others use Recode, others use DVD Rebuilder or DVD95Copy.

And for ripping, there's DVD Decrypter for non-ARccOS DVDs (or with the PgcEdit plugin for ARccOS), DVDFab Decrypter, AnyDVD, RipIt4Me, and many others.

So, use what you like. If a prog doesn't do what you want, another in your arsenal might help you.

For me its very simple and hassle free i use dvd region+css as my decrypter (not free software) nero with version 6.6.0.18 as my burning software and either nero recode or dvd shrink as my compression tool

DVD burnin isnt all that straight forward!

                        Thank you everyone for replies.

I got some good guidlines and some refirmation.

I have a bad tast in my mouth with Nero. It constantly tries to access the inrternet in the background (according to ZoneAlarm) and it seems quirky.
However I got a copy with each dvd drive I put in my build.

I mostly want to avoid ripping then burning.
I have to 16x DVD burners and want to go from disc to disc. and avoid ripping. Is this not always possible? Do some movies have to be put on the harddrive first?

One friend says he just uses DVD Region+CSS and Nero for everything with no problems but I dont have that success. Would this configuration let me go dic to disc and CSS does th decrypting on the fly? I tried it and got the dolby error that said I needed to upgrade my nero??

I use Shrink and ImgBurn on most of the DVDs.
This works for movie to blank (DVD drive to DVD drive?)

I like the looks of IMG burn and had ( I think, I can't remeber since I tried like 8 different programs before getting it right)my first success using it for "Pink Panther" so maybe I'll focus on these.

Anyhow, thanks again for the guidance.
                        mucho appreciated
                        Cheers

I use dvdshrink with Anydvd on the fly. I find it to be super easy. I have also been using ripit4me and it's been great so far.

I use DVDFab>CloneDVD2 or for arccos RipIt4Me>CloneDVD2. Clone's not free, but allow me to take out what I don't want and still keep the menus. It shrinks and burns in the same program.
