I think timewise it compares up pretty good with my internal. Remember the Plextor did come from one of the best.

                Ugggggggggggggggggly!

when verify(reads) slows to 12x on a 16x burn, then you skirt with death.
that's how I made a coaster with the new imgburn

I posted the Nero CDDVD tests over in the other thread but of course I can't do the disc quality yet.

interm of coastal burn? you mean. I could never reach 16x with my dell, the 12x and 8x always give a lower quality scan in my Benq, quality but I read somewhere that Benq only like to read the one burn with benq and I dont have alot of time to test with Plex scan. just wonder that is the external case I should not buy?

I don't know NightTran but I think for being external the Plextor did pretty good but I am no expert.

                          Plextor external ImgBurn@Max: Average write = (7.7X) Maximum write = (11.0X). Average verify = (6.8X) Maximum verify= (9.0X).

                          Samsung internal ImgBurn@Max: Average write = (10.5X) Maximum write = (15.9X). Average verify = (8.3X) Maximum verify = (12.0X).

                            How is the Plextor-716A doing?

I would say pretty good externally speaking.

Make sure you have the latest factory or modified firmware version 1.10 installed before you run the tests on the Plextor 716A or 716SA.
And the latest Plextools professional installed version 2.35
