I recently bought the DMR-EH50 yesterday. I was browsing through the features during setup and decided to select "CHK REMOTE3". Don't asked me why. Just curious I suppose. Well, now I can't do anything else with the unit. Any button I push on the remote returns the same words on the unit display "CHK REMOTE3". I tried changing it back to REMOTE1 (the default) by first holding down the select button and the number 3 at the same time, waiting at least 5 seconds, then pushing the select button again. When I do that, the display still reads "CHK REMOTE3". I've tried unplugging the unit for about 30 minutes and turning it back on. Same results. I did all this with the Panasonic Tech Rep on the phone. I called them back this evening but now they're closed. I reset the unit so that it would restart the stup procedures again, which I thought was great. However, when I push the SELECT button per the setup instruction, all I get on the unit display is "CHK REMOTE3". Can anyone help me figure this out? Is the unit probably bad?
