Oh wait I think I figured it out I just need to create chapters for the layer break to have a place to be put, well I think that is the problem anyways so i'll give it a try.
Nero 6.6.1.4 Dual Layer DVD Burning Question

You need a cell that obeys the LB rules (so that after breaking the layer at that cell, L0 > L1). It is also right to have the break at a sector divisible by 16.
Again, do consider a DVD-5.

same DL problem?
Hi guys... well i've been surfing for this post and i kinda have the same problem.
Let me explain it:
I have a Sony Dvd Rw Dw-q28a KYS3 which is able to write dual layer discs. It reads them fine but the thing is when i try to write on them. I've tried to burn more than 6 Gb of data on Nero (same message when making a back up of a DL DVD in CloneDVD2) and it keeps sending me the "
Disc not writable
Disc needed for this compilation: DVD+R/RW, DVD R-R/RW, DVD+R9 Double Layer
Type of disc in media: empty"
I've checked the firmware and its ok, tried different brands of DVD DL media... It cant be the software 'cause i've tried different and they all say the same...
My brother has a LG DVD RW H10A and has the same problem...
So... any ideas?
I've attached the info tool.txt so you guys can look at it
any help would be highly appreciated!Attached FilesComment

Alright I got through this problem by just using nero to create the project like you normally would but instead of burning to a disc you should use the option to save the project on your hard drive.
After you have done that use imgburn to burn the video onto the disc. I could never get nero to burn the disc so I just used imgburn instead and got exactly what I wanted. Oh and remember when you make your video to include chapters so that imgburn will have a spot to make the layer break. Also I would say use Verbatim DVD+R DL discs for your media, they're excellent discs.
Hope this helpsLast edited by nrok45; 21 Aug 2006, 01:53 PM.Comment
