    Benq 1650/1655 not reading some discs...

    I have been experiencing an oddity with these drives;

    I have (2) 1650 & (2) 1655 drives, & they all give the same result.

    Software used; Nero & Slysoft Clone CD.

    Some discs I try to backup will give me read errors & will not copy. This has happened on several discs...

    However, I have previously backed up these discs, a couple of years ago with my old clunky btc drive.

    Is there something with the Benq models that they don't like to read some copy-protected Cd's?

      updated firmware from rpc1 when I got the first drive;

      The other 3 drives had the most recent update when I bought them.

      I am trying to backup my msworks (6) cd set.

      They hardly get any use at all, I just store them on the shelf, so I would think the discs themselves are okay.

          In my olde version of clone, I always right click on the profile chosen and set the read speed to low(high quality) and make my image, chose game cd mostly.

            I will have to check on that and try again... I do set the burning speed low, to ensure a good burn.

            I was choosing "data", since these are data discs, guess I need to experiment more.
