Burn error....Can someone take a look?

I recently have had two bad burns. I use a HP dvd740e to burn my backups. Below is my log file if someone would care to have a look at it and maybe give me an answer to what is going on. I really appreciate the help.

You need to slow down your burning speed and you should shut down as many programs running in the background to free up some memory.

did you do anything to disrupt the burn?
something slowed it way down, and 20 minutes in, it errored out?

a usb2 drive with a newer laptop can barely do 6-8x, even a 4x burn should only take 15 minutes, but usb is sensitive to interference

shut down everything running, burn at 4x and walk away

Thanks for your helpful suggestions Dialysis1 and Chewy.
I basically got this thing up and running with Dvd Shrink and walked away from it. When I came back to check on it I noticed it hadnt burned successfully.
Normally these disks have only been burning at about 8x, I think this was the first to try to burn at 16x.
As for programs running at the time, I just had some basics running like Antivirus, firewall, etc. Of course there were probally some things running in the background that I hadn't noticed.
I will definitely free up some memory as well.

          Thanks once again.

trying to use a laptop and an external burner is an iffy operation, burn manually and kill all "basics".
