NEC 3550A OEM bought from Newegg

Would I be able to update the firmware from 1.05 to 1.06 safely? I was about to, but in the directions it says not to upgrade with OEM products. I'm fairly sure that it should work, but don't want to take any chances at destroying the drive. Has anyone else done the same to a Newegg OEM drive successfully?

I used binflash to flash from 1.05 to 1.06. no prob.
