Firmware: http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?t=57993. If there is an update & you decide to flash, do it from safe mode with no disc in drive.

unzip the firmware and boot into safe mode and execute

if you used 2U5, you can now bitsett dvd+r's and DL pressed disks will rip fast

and your drive is region free, hope you don't mind?

wierd ? ?
same thing happened to me tonight, burnt 7 dvd's off, no probs, then opened a new pack of blank dvd-r ( different make ) and the same happened.
Ilegal disc ?
have i a bad pack of discs or has my machine gone awol again.
There is a god out there, and his name is chewy. HELP !

this is a tall order, and I wouldn't bother but those were some of the best drives made

from what I have read you will have to run the conversion tool and turn that 3450 into a 3500, then you can flash with 3500 firmware(newer)

liggy's 2.1a bltsett fast at the bottom would be my choice or the region free if that's what you needed

liggy's does support them
