Who here buys DL DVDs? I was thinking about getting some but they're really expensive. I have a few movies that I want to back up but they're to long for reg DVDs.
Who here buys DL DVDs? and are they worth buying?

I have a DVD that is very long and will not compress enough with Shrink. Thinking of just buying 1 DL DVD to copy this. Is there anything special I have to do when copying it this way?Comment

Use ImgBurn and follow the Golden Rules of Burning. Burn at 2.4x.

Consider DVD Rebuilder for a huge increase in quality for highly compressed backups.

Yes thos are long ones, like mentioned rebuild is good also cut some
of the end credits out, you can save space that way too.
unless you have a big screen tv you aren't going to see a difference at
65-70%She's going down to the devil, down down to 90 degrees.
Rock on bro!!!!

With an encoder and something like DVD Rebuilder more than 50% compression looks good even on a big 80" screen like what I have.
I have had 50% compression with Shrink and still look good with the same screen as the bitrate was really high to start with (The Rock R2 for example). It uses over 7GB for just the film.Comment
