I've been lurking and trying to educate myself, but eventually you make a move, because reading gets dull without trying some burns yourself. Until now I've been burning on media pretty randomly, and many of my backups are now failing, so now I'm trying to do it right. So I bought some TY's at auction. (Alright, you don't have to take me to task for that, for I understand the error of my mistake.) I think they are fakes. Can someone tell me?
The packaging doesn't seem right, 50 pack, black base, standard cakebox with two white spacers and one clear pseudodisk on top, wrapped in clear plastic. The hub of each disk has a white five pointed star and etched into the hub in tiny letters is IFPI FW32 and IFPI FW34. The disks are 8x DVD-R with a media code of TYG02 according to DVD Decrypter.
So do I burn, or try to get my money back? If I burn, can someone direct me to a guide on how to scan the disk for quality afterward?
Thanks. And by the way, to the authors of DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypter, RipIt4Me, and FixVTS, you are simply amazing.
