confused about burning

OK help me out here i am confused here I see many people are haveing problems with burns with nero. I am useing verbatum 16x disc and use nero to convert and burn avi files I use the lowest possible burn setting {4x} and yet to have a problem Now some say you should not burn that slow why is that ? please help or answer or solve my confusion

if you have burner/scanner then you can compare which one is better but I burn atleast haft speed of my media

I have only one burner which is a LG and I have not experienced any problems with backups So should I up my burns to 8x or stay at 4x? sweepe007

if you have Verbatim 16x, I would burn at 8x ( it just faster and you still not loose any quality)

Just dont tell Blue that you burn at 8x

ok I am unsure i my firmware is current or not but I have not had any bad burns in the past back ups so I guess I am ok for now sweepe007
