Please recommend a DVD/ VHS player

I need to replace mine with one that isn't so 'picky' when it comes to DVDRs. It doesn't matter if the screen flickers a bit over a glitch [real or imagined], but my LG freezes up and won't play at all.
I live in the UK, btw.

I have had a Go-Video DVD/VHS recorder/player for two years and love it. Easy to use and does a great job.
