time to get a new drive, pitch that old samsung cd-rom, and put a new dvd burner in, save the sony as a back up for the cd-rw(too old also)
2-3 years on any optical drive is long enough
too many drives and you overtax your power supply
having a hard drive and a dvd burner on the same channel is not reccomendedComment
-
the dvd drive in my pc isnt more than a year old at max.. i dont use that samsung drive anymore... i just use the dvd drive and cdrw..
i have a sata HDD as main os
and secondary HDD as storage
and if i have just the DVD RW and the CD RW what is the best IDE configuration for the best quality burn.. thanks againComment
-
keep the drives that talk to each other(bad analogy?) on seperate cables
the sony and the maxtor make for conflicts if used at the same time
if the sony whose firmware is 2 years old and a 2nd generation liteon drive
